A rant about normiefurs
I will preface this by saying that if normiefurs stay with their cliques on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Tiktok and other dogshit mobile phone medias then I don't care about them, it's the ones trying to insert themselves into MY community and demanding changes.
To top it off, they usually bring drama with them and make furries a much more toxic community. Read my post about it!
An history lesson
When it began, the furry community started out as a community of adult anthro enthusiasts. The keyword here is "adult" meaning that even back then we were a bit more raunchy although maybe not exactly "we" as I was not apart of that version of the community. I'm still sadly a bit too young to have lived through it.
Before furry was a thing/1970s: Anthros appeared in mythology (like the minotaur), folklore (like bigfoot), cartoons, comics and texts all throughout the years. The biggest modern influences that would lead to the community's creation were Fritz the Cat, and science-fiction artwork from the World Science Fiction Convention, most notably Albedo Anthropomorphics. Older furs from that time period are probably starting to grow white hair at this point.
1980s: It's when the modern furry community began taking shape in the United States, particularly among fans of science fiction, comics, and animation. Informal meetups and confurence brought people together around to discuss furries and taxes (maybe). Furries already leaned heavily toward adult topics since they were already drawing sexy furry ladies, the mascots of Confurence and Prancing Skiltaire respectively are huge examples. They were not really intertwined with the lgbt community however, but that would soon change.
1990s: The internet helped grow the community dramatically. Mailing lists, forums, artwork sites, and chat rooms made it much easier for furries around the world to connect and to express themselves and be rowdy all they wanted online. This is when I believe the community started getting more queer as time went on, although it was slow. Adult topics around that time centered around the Space Jam movie to which furs were arguing how hot Lola bunny is.
2000s to today: Furry conventions became increasingly common internationally. One notable example was ConFuzzled in the United Kingdoms which would demonstrate how unstoppable furries were, we were spreading every-fricking-where. At the time some furries created fursonas representing themselves, and made or wore fursuits. The fandom was now encompassing artists, writers, performers, gaymers, kinksters and people who simply enjoy anthropomorphic cartoon animals. Telling furries to "come out of the closet" was the moment imo that furry truly became queer, it clearly had connections to lgbt struggles like wanting to keep our identities a secret (some few folks, including me, still do to this day), so "coming out of the closet", a queer-coded euphemism, was pretty apt.
In a nutshell: furry culture grew from a mixture of older science-fiction fans and 20th-century animation/fandom spaces, became an organized subculture in the 1980s and expanded worldwide through the internet and conventions.
The takeaway here is that furry was intended for an adult audience since day 1 and now we're expected to throw all of that away to appeal to the sensibilities of kids and normies who joined way later.
The puritanism of normies

Normiefurs sadly have some strange twisted vision of what furry is about because they weren't born at the right time period and learned about us through Majira Strawberry (no hate towards her, she's cool!) and through news articles. Sometimes their friends share stories about us and that's how the word even enters their brainstem whatsoever. That's why they think the furry community is just a fandom about loving, cosplaying and drawing anthro animals and nothing more than that, that's really it that's all they care to know about our community!
Normiefurs also do not engage with the wider furry community whaoever beyond sharing art of some anthropomorphic characters like Sonic and whatnot or showcase their not-fursuit which is just a pair of cat ears they got off Temu. You ain't original, weeaboos buy this sort of stuff all the dang time! Because all of them (not a generalization, a fact) believe that furry is a fandom focused on anthro animals, their participation will always be very superficial.
To show you how warped their opinions of us are, I selected a few comments I came across on a whim. Prepare your barf bags because it ain't pretty....
Not ALL furries, the pedophiles and zoophiles don't count as real furries to me, but the furries that are literally doing no harm. Like someone can be in a fursuit and someone can go like "UGH CRINGE!" like shut the fuck up let them be?? Even more annoying when the person dressing up in a fursuit is literally a minor or a fucking toddler. Imagine hating on people who just want to cosplay as anthropomorphic animals like they're just trying to express themselves. Just let furries be man This goes for therians as well they just wanna be something they love aka animals EDIT: diapers/cub lovers are an exception
Thanks for the edit, it has been duly noted!!!
The reason people hate furries is because people think they are weirdoes thanks for the actual creeps in that community doing weird shit and people now think that's what all furries do I unfortunately know this because I used to hate on them too until I saw they weren't like this and it was just people shitting on the whole group that made y'all look horrible
Yeah thanks y'all, your comments are appreciated!!! Please stay the fuck away from all of us, you're not welcome! ~❤︎
It's not just people trying to "explain" our community to other people and doing an asinine job at it, meet Squee Rat and N8rich (among others) the people who started the infamous burned furs group. In short, they argue that the psycho weird freaks are ruining the community and that the community is about anthropomorphic arts.
No brother, it's you who does not understand what furry is. Furry is not just "cute quirky drawings of cartoon animals uwu" it's a whole subculture with rules and standards like scene, emo or goth. It's an aesthetic a style! You're the odd one out, crying about fetishes, and porn, and abdl, and bdsm, and swearing, and puphoods... like
On a sidenote, this why I hate likening furry to a fandom like say Undertale because I would argue it gives off the wrong impression that liking anthros is the only requirement to join meanwhile it's not the only prerequisite to be a furry. Plus, as I've complained about before there are childrens coming to the community and I believe part of the problem is caused by this simplification, maybe the colorful cartoony art plays a role in it too, but likening furries to other fandoms is absolutely the biggest culprit.
Further reading about puritanism in the community below because I wanna tackle my second biggest gripe of the day, m*nors!
Minors in the community or why they should be kicked out
It's no secret I don't like children in the community, or even on the internet at large, I am very outspoken on the subject if you couldn't tell.
Furlets, they are everywhere! It's most obvious on Roblox where every kid tawk liek this uwu, and they get to buy furry-themed cosmetics like Puro, Boykisser or Expie with real world money from their parents on the Roblox store to show off to their friends. Unfotunately these furlets won't stay in their lane and wind up on deviantart, furaffinity, heck even e6 despite having a very explicit 18+ only rule.
But where are they coming from besides roblox? I believe there might be another thing attracting them... There are social media that pander to them specifically, and that's how they end up learning about the bigger furry sites in the long run. obviously there's Amino and furry Amino, Roblox and Discord, but I found out that there are explicitly furry social media that cater to children too, and a strange pattern I noticed between them is that they tend to use the word "silly" at least once which look to have been originating from the aforementioned roblox and discord communities.
The wording on those social media is pretty explicit too:
nsfw content is not allowed the line on what is considered nsfw is defined as what you would be okay with sharing with a cool teacher. he allows you to make "that's what she said" jokes, and will accept something if you can explain why it's not sexual; however he won't like it if you start talking about your porn collection
Bro it's been over a decade since i've last had a teacher lmao.
Pornographic content is not allowed in any form.
Although to be a bit fairer, it does have a rule that bans anybody under 16 (better than furaffinity wth?!), but I don't think it's being respected/enforced seeing as, from the posts alone, the vast majority of them are probably under 16. For example, stuff that's popular among children like verity get posted frequently. You're not fooling me, this site's full of kids!
Both websites if you're wondering, they both use the word "silly", one website is straight front and center with the use of that word, on the other it appears occasionaslly.
Sillypost is especially hilarious because it's run by the same person who made YIFFos and even on the page itself it explicitly refers to a fetish in the name "voremicrocomputers" which is badly hidden inside an 'a' element in the text "© Real Microsoft, LLC", yeah hover your cursor on this text or click on it and inspect the url if you're on a phone.
Anyhow, just for the sake of argument I tried with furaffinity and e6 too and while the word "silly" appears on user profiles and comments, it is never part of the website itself which further proves my point that it's being used as a dogwhistle.
And funny thing is both sites seem to be aware of Xenia the Linux mascot, the voremicrocumpter yiffos homepage has a graphic of her on the front page and I found this profile talking about her on the other website while looking up the word "silly" I don't think there's any correlation, but I'm noting it down anyway.
I genuinely but like legitimately have no idea why silly is being used as a dogwhistle like that. Is it accidental i.e. like how I would personally use "silly" because it's not as serious as "stupid" or is it some kind of weird cult trying to get more kids to become furries?
I'm trying to be very specific with my words, so it's extremely hard to describe what's happening and doing it correctly. I would have used the term "grooming" as per the dictionary definition it is {a : to make (someone) ready for a specific objective : prepare}, but we live in 2026 and folks automatically assume that grooming = pedophilia (one other definition does say that much) and Idon't wanna be misundertood so I can't really use a term that is ambiguous, and really it's officially a buzzword these days that gets thrown around so I just can't say what it is for what it is. The best other wayI can define this phenomenon is by comparing it to EPI or early porn introduction, which is both a fetish and a form of "sex-positive" radqueer political activism that is very self-explanatory in the name alone. Replace the 'p' with 'f' and you get EFI or early furry introduction. That's where my problem lies, I do not want minors to be lured into my community, it's only a recipe for disaster and lawmakers targeting us more with age restrictions bullshit.
But first before moving on to my next point, have you heard of boykisser.nl? At a glance it might be similar to the 2 websites I just talked about, well you'd be wrong, I know boykisser is often talked about as this introduction to furry or fetish for minors to the point where having a boykisser avatar or posting a boykisser meme would likely get you labeled a groomer, but the forum is completely normal through and though, I saw no minors on it either and I wasn't able to find any mentions of the word "silly" except from a third party just like furaffinity on this callout thread that was a bit bogus. You gotta remember normoids aren't the only ones who talk about boykisser, it's still a furry meme at the end of the day, in conclusion this one's safe folks!
Ultimately your best bet is to write down any social websites or discord servers that use the word "silly" in any official capacity and warn others about them. If you need further proof or are just wondering, I'd say to check what's being posted you can usually tell when a community is mostly of minors by what they talk about.
I unashamedly agree with the dude outside the frame. We should yell at furries who are 17 years old and 364 days old, please stay away from my comunnity! While we're at it please extent the warranty upto 25 years old! lololol
The tired debate about age restriction and the rights of kids
This is something I learned about recently on bluesky of course, but apparently there are now folks arguing in defending the rights of children to have unfettered access to the internet in case they need a way out of their abusive parents, teachers or schoolmates.
Lmao @ the freeze peach warriors, do you really wanna side with them?
This article is dumb as bricks and I hope whoever wrote it got instant karma for it. Children should be banned, not vice-versa, the only thing i hope for is instead of relying on id checks, they fine parents for child neglect, that's the only point where I deviate on the general issue. To quote a funny but true reply,
Fuck those kids I was here first they can play in the street till dusk and like it.

I absolutely do not subscribe to the idea that "minors should be able to reach out if blah blah blah", not my problem and the ones that do need to reach out are so sheltered by their parents that they can't either way so it makes no fucking difference. I read an article about one fat kid who died of a heart attack because his parents didn't feed him right or an article of the polar opposite extreme where the parents who were morbidly obese left their daughter to almost starve to death, the funny thing between both stories is that the respective parents claimed their kid was autistic thing I don't believe one bit, especially the latter claim from those whales. Neither kids had internet access and the ones that do don't need it. I don't care about your opinion, it is wrong, ban kids from the internet period and incentivize by punishing the parents.
Pee-ess: I think I'm gonna get fur transplants, who's with me? /jk
