Words that mean "Pedophile"
- MAP - stands for "Minor Attracted Person"
- Paraphile - Umbrella term for "necrophile", "zoophile", "incestophile" and "pedophile", trust me I wished it meant harmless fetish weirdos like me (stuff like "vorarephile" exist after all), but it doesn't or we're secondary at best.
- Radqueer - In response to LGBTQIA+ being allegedly "too puritan", the movement supports "transracialism" (Thanks MOGAI!) as well as "paraphiles" and "MAPs", so already we're off to a great start - but to make this whole thing even funnier, the person who coined the term on Tumblr @foucault-divine-mephisto is a Pro-Contact MAP (meaning they like touching kids, the term "pro-contact" is exclusively used by pedophiles) and apparently according to one source, @equiradqueer co-opted the definition after the fact because Foucault is a pedophile (like adopting Sonic.exe after realizing that JC-the-Hyena is a pedo), despite the fact it's a movement not a work of fiction/art, so the creator being a pedo is a huge red flag.
- NOMAP - stands for non-offending minor attracted person. In other words, someone with pedophilic tendencies who can actually control themselves and not diddle real kids.
- Pro-contact/Pro-consent/Pro-recovery - Pedo-termed slang words for different things involving minors. Contact means touching, consent means well waiting for consent and recovery means to make an attempt to cure one's own pedophilia (e.g through conversion therapy). Be careful as pro-consent and pro-recovery might not be pedo exclusive, but as far as pro-contact is concerned it's a huge red flag.
- Transage - it kind of means the same thing as age regression, but not really because it tries to dismiss age as a social construct (like transracialism THANKS MOGAI!). At any rate this one is a certified pedophile word through and through.
- Childlove/Boylove/Girllove - Self-explanatory. Do I need to add anything?
Conversely words that don't mean "Pedophile"
- ABDL - stands for "adult baby diaper lover", ADULT! It comes in 2 varieties, either it's an healthy coping mechanism for some (often neurodivergent) people or it's an infantilism fetish, I fall into the later category and prefer the "forced" subcategory of it because I'm a toonophile and I have fantasies of being humiliated like one if you've ever watched how most cartoons go, I remember that episode were Tom the cat was in a stroller, wearing a diaper, a pacifier and other stuff while Butch was bullying him. Nothing to do with ABDL, but I really like that episode where the Pink Panther gets harassed by a raincloud, or anytime when Wile tries to catch the roadrunner, he gets caught by his own traps, this is the part that turns me on for some reason although not always.
- DDLG - stands for "daddy dom little girl". It only involves adults as well, no minors. Basically a sissy fetish version of ABDL.
- Aging up [a character] - people tend to grow emotionally attached to fictional characters, so they want to see porn or kooky cartoon fetish art of them, but moderation is often colorblind, so a character like Tails the fox can get you banned (and used to be the case on furaffinity until recently) because he is canonically a minor. The keyword here is growing emotionally attached to a fictional character, the character's age is irrelevant so instead of arguing the rules they remake the character to look older with longer arms and legs and maybe large breasts and genitalia to go with that.
- Age regression - specifically the fetish and the opposite of aging up a character. It's part of an infantilism fetish related to ABDL, functionally the same as transformation, where the character is both physically and mentally brought back to childhood, but I've never seen anybody put age regressed characters in sexually explicit pornographic situations, so it is weird this is even taboo. Again, the worst you could argue here is the fetish itself which clearly is extremely cartoony and unrealistic where 99% (probably even 100%) of people are infatuated by the act, the event of age regression, nobody into age regression likes kids.
- Diaperfur - Furry neologism, see abdl above because it means basically the same thing but it can only be used if an artwork features an anthro cartoon animal somewhere in there. Can also refer to a member of the furry community.
- Cub/Loli/Shota - Probably the most contentious on the list especially since yes there are folks into cub/loli/shota who are pedophiles. The terms refer to sexually explicit pornographic content involving minors: Cub means infant furry, Loli mean girl and Shota means boy. The issue is that in recent years even fetish content that would nominally be rated G or 3+ (inflation, vore, flattening, tickling, etc) will get
people's pants in a twistthe labels because it's seen as pornographic, as far as I'm concerned when I consume fetish content I laser focus on the fetish, I even fap to placeholder "YCH" images too, so to me that never crosses my mind the proportions of the character(s). Japanese people also have a bad habit of making characters smaller, sometimes it's exaggerated enough that most people can tell it's a chibi, but oftentimes it may come off as a kid and part of the problem is culture, I don't think people in the East really care nearly as much as Westerners about how they present a character, so they often end up drawing explicit content featuring minors unknowningly. Additionally, there's still the aforementioned problem of being emotionally attached to a character (like Tails) while also refusing to age them up, that technically counts as cub/loli/shota even though the person is not strictly sexually attracted to kids, they just like that one fictional character a little too much. This is why the argument of "it's just a drawing" is even brought up, nobody owes you a 5 paragraphs essay explaining how their brains work, but I hope this serves as a good enough explanation, not to completely dismiss the possibility that the wrong people use those terms and are sexually into drawn depictions of children... if not real kids too, but also to point out that it's not that cut and dry.1

It's kinda funny how things go around, in the 90's moral guardians were parents and old religious people whining about everything because of the children, now we have young secular moral guardians thanks to Twitter brain rot, whining about everything being pedo, grooming, toxic relationships and so on, even when it's not, throwing those words around so much that they lost all meaning thanks to the clear misuse since they rarely even know what those words actually mean.
I guess one could argue that these people lack critical thinking and common sense too, since they can't separate fiction from reality, neither realize that just because something bad is in a work, it doesn't mean it's being promoted, feels like we're regressing as a society, soon smoking, drinking and so on will not be allowed in fiction, and all stories will need to end with bad guy suffering consequences for their actions and the good guys winning, because obviously all works of fiction need to give a moral lesson for them to be good right?

Ultimately, it's context sensitive, context that you don't necessarily have. I reckon it'd be best to stop picking up pitchforks over the assumed age of fictional characters because you are certainly not gonna catch any predators that way. You'd have better odds by going into discord or roblox and pretending to be a minor like CIA agents.↩
